The following project is an ongoing experimental proposal that considers the need to incorporate small scale forums to reflect on themes around ecology and sustainability in educational centres.

The theme of the prototype is The Learning Pavilion of the Water-Food-Waste Nexus. It was proposed in 2024 by the Sustainable infrastructures Initiative at UNAM’s School of Architecture. It is a small scale structure that hosts three main activities:

- An organic waste collector with a compost area that utilises a sealed container to handle a maximum of 10 kg a day of waste from the main canteen.
- Rainwater collector during the rain season (~six months a year).
- Plant nursery for fruits, vegetables and gardens that will serve as learning material for the Landscape Architecture programme.
The vision is to offer a hub and a forum of sustainability to learn, discuss, and debate the issues around ecology in the context of climate emergencies.
